Looking off-screen, she asks if the autocue was a ten, mentioning that it looked like a ten, pausing and noting having seen a five before pointing and asking if she's currently about to be going live. Francis removes her earpiece and remarks that it's useless, asking what's happening and beginning to repeat that she can't hear properly before pausing, noting that removing the earpiece doesn't aid her hearing much either. Before being broadcast, she warns the camera operator that she'll have to be cued in, as she can't hear properly. Francis can be seen in the background cowering from several nearby gunshots, before the camera feeds are soon lost again.įrancis returns during the final segment of the broadcast, amidst the interview with the Novaries. The Disrupt operative mutters that Francis can consider the following as payback before running off, leaving her dazed and cowering up against a chain-link fence. Francis repeats her earlier warning to the man, explaining again that she cannot hear him and informing that she's from the National Nightly News. Trembling, Francis warns the operative that she can't hear anything, and she's slowly eased down by the operative, who requests for her to sit down, explaining that medics are coming. She leans against a fence for support, and a Disrupt operative shortly after runs up to her and asks who the fuck she is. The camera feeds are lost briefly before Francis returns, visible in the background behind Julia Salisbury and covered in blood. Remarking that he was famous for his potty-mouth, she notes that a conservative estimation put Peter Clement's uttered swears during his career as over 1.5 million, mentioning that some sources instead put the count well in excess of over two-million f-bombs alone.įrancis explains that Peter Clement died from apparent liver failure after suffering from the long-term effects of alcohol abuse, and after occasionally smiling towards the camera while Julia is continuing her speech, she walks off to the side only for an explosion to soon erupt whilst Julia is performing an audience-wide countdown. Francis states that Peter was known across a career of three decades for shows such as "Wake up, it's Saturday!" and much later, the late-night chat show "Petey", which would draw millions of viewers at its peak. She mentions that Peter Clement's "Just The Job" first hit screens over 25 years ago, which ran for 11 series' and won multiple awards, in addition to charming audiences up and down the country. ![]() As Julia Salisbury steps on-stage to begin her address alongside a round of applause, Francis states that the ceremony seems to be getting underway, introducing the viewers to Julia and calling her the picture of elegance.Īs Julia Salisbury begins her speech, Francis watches and nods along, informing the viewers that Peter's death at the age of 62 was announced by Advance on the 24th of December, just six weeks after Liberation Night. ![]() After looking to her left, Francis apologizes for the technical difficulties, informing the viewers that Julia Salisbury will soon afterwards step on-stage and dedicate the gardens behind them to the now-deceased Peter Clement.Īttempting a mock smile, she tells the viewers that crowds have been slowly gathering since the afternoon, noting that the atmosphere at the memorial has been bright and cheerful despite the somber occasion. When Megan Wolfe directs the broadcast to her, she hesitantly thanks Megan and introduces herself as Patrick Bannon, mentioning that they are indeed live. Francis first appears once the broadcast signal at the Peter Clement Memorial is regained, microphone in hand and looking at something off-screen. ![]()
